PDF to Word ++ App Reviews
PDF to Word ++ OCR
Very easy to use and user friendly. Intuitive. This app is really a nice incremental step up from the earlier app, PDF to Word +. Recommended.
Have been using PDF to Word + for months and works perfectly fine, I was impressed so Id like to spend extra money on OCR function. OCR is accurate if the PDF file is clear enough, well done.
Im picky but totally impressed with this app, PDF conversion is now much easier and faster. I have to handle lots of legible PDFs, they were in TIFF images before, this app converts them quickly and with few errors. The source doucments are scanned by Canon Scanner, with decent quality. For those non scanned files, it works perfect, everything is well preserved in word doc after conversion. Excellent apps, indeed.
This app has great functionality and features. Like many people I use Mac but use windows for work, have been looking for an alternative PDF converter that actually works on Mac. The ocr feature does a great job, best at this price I guess. Keep it up.
Been using this app for months and it just keeps getting better. It works great on 150 dpi scanned docs and the result is almost perfect, I can use the results without having to edit and double check. Besides OCR, conversion for normal files is also accurate and speedy, the most important feature for me. OCR app is never going to be cheap and easy to use, but this is definitely be my choice.
Just purchased, the first document I tried to convert was 3 pages of text, and it converted it to 48 pages with just a few letters on each line. I thought maybe something was wrong with that original source file, so I tested another (a one page letter); it converted it to 24 pages of the same screwy format.
Amazing
Really impressed with this application. Works great and is really useful.
It doesn’t seem to work with Openoffice. I don’t have Microsoft office. The documents have one word per page with hundreds of pages. I thought it was a wasted and left a bad review. However, I opened it with Pages, and the results are impressive. Not only is the text recognition better than expected, but the formatting is close to the original. These are on scanned documents scanned in by PDFScanner.
converted pdf to useless gobbledeegook
Very disappointing. Completely useless. I guess Apple does not vet programs for imac in the same manner as it does for ipads.
Purchased this so I could convert a pdf file to a word document, well it actually did that, but in the form of basically pasting a picture of the pdf into a word document. I can do that myself, without spending money, and that’s just not helpful at all. Really?!! Hightly annoyed with the waste of time, effort and loss of money.
I bought this because it was the only OCR program that (said it) had paragraph detection, i.e. instead of making every line a separate paragraph, as in most OCR programs. Well, not only did it NOT do that, but the output was the worst I’ve seen: uneven line spacing, can’t tell serif from sans-serif fonts, changes font size in the same paragraph (which, again, it does not recognize as such), cannot detect boldface, etc. I’ve been trying out and using OCR programs for over 20 years, and this is not even up to 1999 standards. PDFpen, a PDF-management program that offers OCR as just one of its many functions, does a far better job of it. I’m going back to it; I can’t afford to waste any money on useless programs; from now, I absolutely will not buy anything that does not offer a free trial period.
